The Kansas City Star called the premiere of this play "...a first-rate new comedy... an unqualified delight..a wonderfully entertaining play." What happens when Ned Reardon, the ultimate superstar, who's bent on self-destruction with drugs and alcohol, meets up with his greatest fan, an adoring young woman who's been in love with him ever since she saw him live on stage? Comedy, of course! Jan Fuqua talks her reluctant, aspiring actor brother, Jimmy, into helping her kidnap Ned in order to rehabilitate him. Ned, of course, is not too crazy about the idea. We watch Ned go through a variety of feelings: anger, disbelief and denial. He finally gets his revenge, but it comes at a cost. Ned hadn't figured on one thing—falling in love. This play says something to all of us as these three mismatched characters discover things about each other and themselves. Snatch a Falling Star is that rare play that makes us laugh and touches us at the same time. Successful productions in both Los Angeles and New York. One int. set.
